I love the cobalt blue and purple together. I'm actually wearing that color blue today and never considered pairing it with purple. I might have to try that next time!

I love the red and yellow together but I'm afraid of looking too Ronald McDonald if I try to pull it off IRL.
ahahah
you'd be welcome in Rome, since these are the colors of the local soccer team...
In any case, may be you could try softening the combination by putting a neutral, like white or grey, in between (like: yellow top, grey skirt, red shoes, or something like this?)

I wore a magenta/cobalt blue combo yest and loved it!
I like wearing colors that are "near" each other -- black and royal blue, red and magenta, white and cream. I think this (unofficial) taboo was lifted a few years ago...

I love those pink shoes! I think pink and green together is so cute.
I like bright purple and bright green together too. That's what I'm wearing today - but the green is my shoes and the purple is my cami, so they're seperated by vast amounts of jeans and black top. I'm taking baby steps :)

I have a photo of Kate Bosworth wearing a bright red v-neck sweater with a bright yellow scarf. She has on skinny jeans, black ballet flats and aviators. Her look totally rocks. I never think of pairing 2 primary colors like that so I keep the photo out for inspiration. I also have a hot pink and orange scarf from BR that I recently wore with a bright pink sweater - loved it!
A SA in Gap the other day was wearing turquoise and coral and it looked great. I think if you keep it simple you can really pull off combos like that. Being bolder with color is totally on my to-do list for 2009 it's just hard to be inspired...and not every day is a primary color day!
