okay i know that typically a good everyday bag should be very versatile and, as such, maybe in a neutral color, but i saw this bag at the store and fell in love with it:
it ended up looking fab with what i had on, which was olive green, white and a tiny bit of pink. i was talking to the sale associates and the consensus was that the bag in that color would go with just about any color in my wardrobe except red (which i pretty much never wear). i need a bag that is stylish and that will add pop to my wardrobe (which consists of a lot of neutrals by the way), and that is big (for all of the kids' loot) and functional and a shoulder bag as well.
do you all think this would fit the bill and more importantly, do you like it (even as an everyday bag)?? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or opinions!
I love red bags, as they can be worn with both black, navy, tan and brown shoes (and a bunch of other colors). And if it matches what you have in your wardrobe, go for it. I like the sape, and it's pretty big for everyday use, I think.
I do like it. I think the outer pockets will make it a really nice everyday bag, and I like the shape. Personally, I wonder if the strap is long enough. I like short straps so I can keep things under my arm and close to me, but that strap looks extra short. Maybe I just have the size/proportions wrong in my head.
I think red is a *great* choice for an everyday bag. I got a red bag a couple years ago and I still use it whenever I need a purse (which, by now, is only on the weekends because I have a messenger bag for the workweek, but still...). I didn't realize how versatile it would be. It rarely clashes with anything I wear.

I the Faridah as an everyday bag. I was thisclose to getting it in a different color, but I decided on another style. As far as the strap length... I've tried this bag on and it fits fine over the shoulder. This bag totally fits your criteria and I say go for it!
I think it's a great color - it works with neutrals (gray, black, navy, chocolate, tan) and should go with other brights too. I agree on not doing red with it, but, if you had a print with red and pink combined like in a blouse or dress, I think it would be okay.
And it will work really well with fairly monochrome outfits, like gray/white or black/gray.
I have that MJ bag in the poppy color in pebble leather from last summer. I LOVE it! I think the patent would be easier to care for than the pebble leather. I love the red and agree it's pretty versitile. I like the size and layout of the bag. The only cavet I have is the bag is kind of heavy, but perhaps the patent is lighter. I know the weight bugs me if I have to throw extra things in, which being a mommy, can happen.
Love it, I think it's totally versatile! I bought a deep coral colored bag from J Crew 2 summers ago and wore it to death. It seemed to go with everything and I agree with Suasoria that it'd be a great pop of color with monochromatic outfits. I have some bags that make me happy every time I wear them and I feel like this might be that bag for you!

wow, thanks everyone for the encouragement!! i really want to get it, but i am going to have to save up for it or wait for it to go on sale. i have a list of things i need to buy before moving overseas this summer, and this is on it. but anyway, i have to wait to get it unless my hubby wants to get it for me for our anniversary.
bellina jessica - you're right, it's not red. it is a magenta color (sort of fuschia but i don't like that word) and it IS bright, as another poster mentioned, which is why i hesitated. but i really liked it in person and you all have sealed the deal for me - thanks!!
I LOVE it!!!!!! I have a bag in magenta as you like to call it (it's really fushica though ) and it goes with pretty much everything in my closet, pretty much the only thing I can't carry it with is if I'm wearing a lot of bright pink, then it's too barbie. You totally should buy it!!!
I made this PV set for someone who was considering shoes in that color - maybe it helps. Honestly I think the bag has less of a Barbie factor than shoes would.
