need new T-shirts
Permalink Closed

I finally broke down and realized I have to get new T-shirts. All of mine are either stained or have developed loose stiching. One even has a hole it it that I was disguising by tucking it in! I went shopping twice this week, but can't seem to find what I want. I'm mostly looking for a white shirt that you can't see through. Other colors would be fine to stock up as well. What are good brands? I've tried different stores in the mall, but no luck.

My fave for basic tees anymore is American Apparel. I know Target has some nice ones as well!

I love the New v-neck T from the Gap.  They have white and other colors, and if you size up they are perfectly slouchy.  I have 5.

Yeah  - I know it's at the mall, but I am usually very pleased with Gap tees.

Have you checked if Velvet makes any short-sleeved tees (I'm assuming that is what you seek)?  I have a couple long-sleeved ones from Velvet, and they are thicker than other brands-while not being annoyingly stiff.

C&C California?  Sometimes theirs are a little too worn/distressed looking, but maybe it would be okay in white.

I got some great tees last year from Banana Republic. The fabric is nice, the price is reasonable, and they're really flattering for a tee shirt.

I love James Perse tee's. You can usually find them on sale online for around $25, or at discount stores (marshalls, nordstrom rack, off 5th) in the $18 range.

I used to love tee's from sharon segal too, but I cant afford the $ anymore. They are great though if you have the money!

I can't live without my deep v-neck tees from American Apparel. The tri-blends are my favorite.  I tried the Gap ones on and they are pretty good, they just don't come in the colors I want. I've been curious about these J.Crew boyfriend v-necks-

I'm with you there...yesterday I went through all my clothes (thanks to the closet cleaning post) and realized I had to get rid of things...out went all my plain old navy tees. Of course this morning I'm realizing I now have no basics!

Tobi is having a sale right now for an extra 25% off (code: 25more) and they have a ton of Michael Stars, Velvet, etc. I bet you'd be able to find what you're looking for there.

I've had consistent good luck with the J.Crew v-neck tee's (the tissue thin) and they come in a ton of colors. You can often catch them on sale as well.

I also just found at the Gap some really great tees. They are the ones that Lynnie posted. I've got them in a couple of colors and are great. I've got the correct size for work (M) and slouchy ones (L) for weekend outfits. Not as many colors as J.Crew, but much cheaper.
