So I was chatting with alb today, trying to decide whether or not we should be rushing out to purchase the Bulga tote below..
A few negatives..
1. it is still backordered and will be for 3 more weeks according to the girl at Testimo.
2. At Testimo, the handbags are considered an accessory and therefore NOT returnable. You can get an exchange.. BUT what if I don't like the bag in person. Then I have a $400 credit at Testimo where I probably won't find anything else that I want.
3. This bag will NOT fit over your shoulder.
4. I showed a friend at work this pic and she hated it.. saying that there was something very "80s" about it.
Even after all these things, I still "think" that I love it. Am I crazy?
Next year, will Bulga's become a thing of the past? Am I better off saving for a Gucci or something more classic?
i voted other. here's my honest opinion, so do with it what you will. i like bulgas, i've been eyeing them since they first appeared on girlshop. while i do think it's worth your money, it is definitely a bag of the moment. by that i mean it's something that you'll probably wear a lot for a limited amount of time, retire for a bit, and then resurrect and repeat the cycle again. if you already have an amazing purse collection, then it's worth adding to your rotation. but if you're still in the process for saving for your "it" bag, i would pass on this and put the money towards a gucci.
I love that bag and would carry it until it fell apart, but that might be just me. Oh, and I really wanted to vote "Whatever you choose, stop bitching :)" just because it made me laugh, but I didn't
I also love that bag and, like FP, would wear it to death. The bag IS trendy, but I think you'll be able to carry it forever. However if you are having doubts about the spending $400, then maybe you should save up for something you'll really love.
Hey Jocey! Here is my 2 cents in more detail (you've already heard the gist of it):
Reason # 1, that it's backordered for 3 weeks, wouldn't be a concern to me if I wanted the bag. 3 weeks isn't that far away, so I wouldn't let that be a factor in my decision.
Reason # 4, would not be a factor either b/c that bag is awesome and doesn't look 80s at all IMO. IMHO, the other ones with the studs look more 80s.
Reasons #2 and #3, however, would be major factors in my decision, and I've decided not to get that bag b/c first of all, $400 is a lot of money for something you can't return that you haven't seen IRL. That no return policy on handbags is really lame IMO. Second, and this is the most important thing to me, if I am going to spend $400 on a bag it would have to be something that I would wear to death, all the time (like someone else mentioned). Because it won't fit under my arm I know that won't be the case, b/c it would bug me. For example, if I am going somewhere where I know I'll be walking around alot, I wouldn't want to not have that bag around my shoulder. It would just bug me to be carrying iit in my hand all the time. But that's just me and that's why I decided to not get the bag.
I am still debating on the other style with the big rings (too lazy to post a pic), however, b/c it will fit over my shoulder. But b/c I like the look of this one better, I think I'm going to wait on both of them for now. So--I am off to find another fabulous it bag.

Hehe--it's enough of a PITA now for me! Didn't you say not to get a shoulder diaper bag though?
