i love the whole thing too. i have a leopard cardi i got from ann taylor a few years ago, and it gets way more wear than i thought it would... in fact, i may need this one to replace it!

I know...I love this, too. I like animal print in moderation - I have a pair of shoes and a pair of gloves in leopard. And I recently bought the ATL leopard cardi that we discussed here a while back - I wear it quite a bit. I just don't *love* the price of this J Crew one. But I know it will probably sell out before it goes on sale, darn them!

I looove J Crew but their styling drives me crazy. Their stylists are really good because I always fall in love with outfits or pieces and buy them but when I get them home I feel like Rainbow Brite or a lady who lunches.
Leopard print and yellow jeans look good in the catalog but what about IRL?

If the yellow jeans intimidate you - then intepret the style your way - go with a bright yellow tank underneath the cardi, with either jeans or a khaki skirt or pant. I have that same cardi from several seasons ago from Jcrew and I've worn it with electric yellow. I love mixing in a bright piece with an otherwise nuetral palette
I can't do animal print. I know it's fake and all but I feel like a barbarian wearing it. Although I'll happily slap on a leather bag, so I'm a total fraudster really. But the JCrew outfit reminds me of a BR outfit from a couple of years ago. It mixed animal print and yellow and I loved it. It was such a great look (I "suggested" a friend buy it so I could admire it on her).
If you don't like the bright pants, you could try a skirt or perhaps trousers, as opposed to jeans. IMO colored pants look way less outrageous than colored jeans.
Or you could just do like someone else suggested and put pieces of the color in your outfit (purse, shoes, jewelry, scarf, etc. - although not all at once) and keep the rest of the outfit neutral.
