What do you girls think of capris like these (ignoring the high waist? I am just wondering about the ties around the knees. I was them IRL yesterday and was drawn to them. Do you think they would look cute if they were styled well? They come in other colors.
I think drawstring capris in general (not these specifically, with the high waist and weird stitching halfway down the leg), at best, are neutral. Even if they were styled really well (I'm thinking wedges and a a pretty top, and only at a picnic or on the playground), I can't ever see myself thinking they are "stylish" or "pretty." But anything less than the perfect supporting pieces will leave me thinking they are kind of frumpy. That said, I'm not a fan of capris in general, so I admit I come to the table a bit biased to begin with.

I have a really pretty pair I wear in the summer. They are pink with ruffle lining around the front pockets. I tie the strings into a pretty bow so they don't dangle. I love them lots, and consider them to be a warm weather casual staple. Easy to style too. I wear them with sandals and a cute top.
I'm okay with capris...and even drawstring ones...but only for summer casual. I myself have a few I'll wear with a tank and flip-flops to the playground. These though I really don't like. All the seams and stitching seems very fussy. And I think all those lines from the stitching will make anyone look shorter and wider. That said, I think there are other perfectly good options out there...Old Navy always has some in the spring.
i was actually just thinking about the wole drawstring at the bottom hem thing this past weekend. I know they were a big fad about 5 yrs ago and I've owned pants, capris, and even a skirt with the drawstring at the bottom. BUT I can't see it ever looking nice and I was always bothered by the tickling feeling of the drawstring/drawcord, and occasionally would trip on them. ehhh. i think you could do much better with a nicer khaki capri with a better shape. IMHO

Me too. My problem with this cargoish style is they're usually baggy and shapeless. I can see wearing them to the beach or the park, but I don't often find myself wishing for more scruffy clothes I can get dirty in.
