What the heck is sporty casual?


I have a charity event for the local officers' wives' club to go to next week.  The dress is "sporty casual," since the theme is sports related.


What should I wear?  I have no clue what that means.


Help!

I asume sporty casual is like polo shirt with khakis or something similar. JCrewish or Liz Claiborneish you know. I may be wrong though...

It could be just me, but it sounds like a euphemism for "frumpy".

I would go a sporty with the outfit. Like jeans and a Puma zippy, no hoodies, that would be too casual and a pair of heels instead of tennis shoes so you don't look totally frumped out but the Puma zippy will give it a sportier feel.
