i bought them at dsw - they were on clearance, which made them abt $130. any thoughts? i think i like them - i wanted to get riding boots but not sure if these would qualify b/c of the heel.
also, any ideas on what to wear them with besides skinny jeans? also, would they look odd with leggings only and a long shirt or sweater? thanks in advance!
I own those and wear them constantly... they are really comfortable and look great. Lots of compliments. I think they'd look alright with leggings & a long sweater, I'd to that myself, except leggings look terrible on me. Haha.
phew, thanks kmd! i was starting to wonder if everyone thought they were hideous! i think i am going to like them and appreciate your feedback. if you don't mind another couple of questions, what do you usually wear them with?? are they comfortable enough to walk around in for long periods?
Those are great boots, Alb! Personally, I would steer clear of leggings and a long sweater but I would have that same opinion no matter the boots. I just think it makes the girl look half-naked. Literally like she forgot her pants. However, I think those boots would be super awesome with knee-length skirts- like wool or denim.

thanks relrel! i think you're right about the leggings. i am just trying to come up with other ideas of what to wear with them since i don't wear skirts that much and don't have enough prs of skinny jeans.
off to look for skirts and skinny jeans (and tights)!
I could see wearing them with a sweater dress and opaque tights, if they are right together.
I go pretty basic with these and wear jeans tucked into them. I've worn them while working at a gallery where I'm on my feet for hours at a time, and I find that they are pretty damn comfortable. Of course, if you wear cushier socks, they're even more comfy.
Honestly, I'm not sure how they'd look with a skirt- I think I'd like them a lot better with a dress.
I have them in a different color and wear them with my skinny jeans tucked into them and with a long cardigan sweater tied loosely. I also wear them under bootcut jeans, but that makes them a little bit more westerny, IMO.
I meant to post on the shopping thread that I really like them! Tough, but still streamlined. I'm a sucker for a lug sole.
Try them with wide-legged or trouserish jeans too - I'm curious if they'd still have a western vibe like MissMe mentioned.
I love the idea of a dark or black denim pencil skirt and a sweater or blazer, with or without tights (or knee-high socks if you're adventurous).
I think they're a bit like a leather or denim jacket: you can wear them whenever you might feel like "dressing down" an outfit - I could see them with a jersey dress, for example, and chunky jewelry. This would feel much more laid-back and approachable than the same dress with pumps or heeled sandals. I would be inclined to wear an outfit like this for a dinner party at someone's house, when you never know if other people are showing up in cocktail attire or jeans!
thanks for the ideas, suasoria! that's very helpful. i have some COH trouser jeans that i wear all the time but didn't think to pair them with those boots until you and miss me brought it up. also have several jersey wrap dresses - dvf and other - that would work and my dark denim pencil skirt sounds like an option too. great, i'm really excited now! thx again!
