Here is my problem. I read this auction to mean that I was buying tickets to two games (session 1) on friday and tickets to the Sunday game.
I should have contacted the seller, but I didn't realize the auction said..."also available for sunday", not also for sunday like i thought.
I jumped very quickly and used buy it now because the price was great for what i understood it to be. Now, once we discussed the payment arrangements it came out that I ONLY bought tickets to the Friday games.
I misunderstood this for several reasons....this is his only auction that even mentions sunday's game. there is no auction for sundays game.
I know deep in my heart that I screwed up. However, is it worth asking this guy to mutaully cancel the transaction because of my mistake or do I have to just suck it up? Please let me know your thoughts. I know that these tickets will sell quickly to another buyer.
***ETA: in his email to me he offered me the sunday tickets for $250.00
ok, I will be brutally honest - and I know it's not what you want to hear... I also totally understand misreading something, getting excited about it and purchasing on impulse - it happens.
I think he was really clear in what he was selling, as the first line in his description is "You are bidding on a great pair of tickets to session 1 only on Friday March 18th."
you can see if he'll try to retract your bid - it's worth a shot (not sure if you can do this with buy it now - but you can ask - you have nothing to lose at this point, do you?) Other than that, you are obligated to pay, and if you don't you'll get negative feedback...
try seeing if he'll retract your buy it now, and if he won't then pay and consider it an expensive lesson to read the description more closely in the future... I know, it sucks but that's what I would do...

That is exactly what i was going to say - i'd say explain the whole story to him, admit that you know you screwed up & you really wanted Sunday, he may put them back up, and if he won't, then I'd tell you to put them up for sale. Sorry this happened - i know it's yuck. I really do find that most people are willing to work with you. Especially if you know that this item will sell to someone else.
