i disagree on the comfort issue. if you look close, there is some padding. i have bought a couple of steve maddens lately and if they have the cushioning, they can be comfortable. the lockets by steve madden are super comfortable (although the heel on the locket's are lower).

I'm going to be the voice of dissent and say no...something about trying to make casual shoes more funky by plastering an abundance of sequins on them is just not flying with me. But to each her own.

That was sort of my concern... I think they're sort of cute, but not going to be part of my shoe budget. I'd wear them once, tops, then realize I was trying to look like someone I'm not.

I like the shoes and I don't think they're tacky. I like that they're not just plain casual shoes. But in the end it's all about what you're comfortable in and you don't want to waste money on something you'll only wear once, it's better to just donate the money to charity.

I think you could get cuter shoes that have the same concept you are looking for. If they are cheap, get them, if you are going to spend, keep looking.

i am just not big into sequins and platforms and clunky fronts. i think there is to much going on. . . plus knowing you they just aren't your style. i'd pass get something like these instead the price is pretty low so if you only wear them a few times no harm in that. . .
dewdk, those 2nd ones are more me, you're right. Actually think I might get the Steve Madden Wickerr in red, though, for my wooden platform fix (I posted them for someone else and then decided I liked them myself!). I have to face it that sequins are not me. Maybe that is a good thing.
BTW, those 9 West shoes you wanted (the red ones) are on sale @ Hecht's right now. The Balllston one - of course - only has black and brown, but I bet another store would have the red.

I love them! I think they're just the right amount of tackiness to give an outfit a little tongue-in-cheek humor, but that could be just me. I like clothes that don't take themselves (or make me take myself) too seriously.
That said, I'm strangely attracted to all things sparkly, so my opinion may be a bit biased.
