I have no clue what to do. My gorgeous manolo boots sold in a buy it now for like $600. The thing is, the buyer is in singapore, has no feedback, and sent me a bizarro email saying she was some kind of buyer's agent and would I accept a US cashier's check.
I wrote back saying for something that expensive, I'd only ship to the US and I only accept paypal. I even say in my auction that I only accept paypal and only ship US.
Thing is, she's already done the "buy it now" - but she doesn't meet my selling conditions. If it were like $50 and the person was in Japan, had contacted me privately to see if I'd ship to Japan, and had good feedback and paid via paypal, I'd consider breaking my rule about international shipping. But this is dodgy... how do I play this? I don't feel good about it, but can I refuse?

Ugh that sucks! I once had someone bid on one of my items and then he claimed to have problems with his Paypal account and couldn't use Bidpay and I didn't want to deal with waiting for a M.O. so we agreed to cancel the sale. There is some option on ebay to report a mutually agreed upon cancellation. So I would just email this person and say that unfortunately it states your payment and shipping policies in the auction and you aren't willing to make an exception for them so you are going to cancel the sale.
Thanks, all - you're right, it was a scammer! She is no longer an ebay member and so they are giving me a FVF without my having to do the whole unpaid item thing (I have been communicating with ebay by email). Also in the future I need to be sure to block my auction so people who don't have paypal or who lvie where I won't ship can't bid. Live and learn...

dc - How can you block bidders who do not have Paypal or are in a place you do not ship to are? I only ship to US too and I have had a few dealings with people that have bid on my items that live in Asia too. Seriously...can't they read?!
