I feel like not too long ago, I would have found it surprising to see a similar item at J.Crew and Gap costing the same amount. Both of these sandals are $39.50... so which ones?
I think the Gap ones pack a little more oomph. I've had bad experiences with j.crew's footwear, however i've never tried the gap for footwear. I like the silver/gold/bronze combo btw.
I voted J Crew because they're classic and they look like they're better made. Plus you know the Gap ones will go on sale for next to nothing, just keep an eye on them and when they go on sale if you still want them and they have your size get them too.
The Gap ones are cute, but I agree with FP, they'll go on sale for virtually nada. Plus, I think J. Crew makes higher quality shoes, so that's my pick!
I chose the Gap ones because I think the J Crew ones are too simple for that price. Plus I think the Gap ones offer more kick and they will certainly go on sale. I like the green color combo best.

my experience is also that j.crew's flip flop are uncomfortable (but better quality)

I agree. And I just can't get past the rhinestone on the gap ones. . .

It's really six of one half-dozen of the other. Gap sandals don't fit well and Jcrew shoes don't last. But I would get the Jcrew because I like the line better. Also, it might not be worth it, but you can have a thin rubber sole put on the bottom that will help them last a lot longer.
