Why do I have nothing to wear???
Permalink Closed

I feel like i've recently bought a lot of cute things, but when I go to the closet to find something to wear I end up taking out the same old thing. I guess I have been breaking the rules of shopping that some of you have that you don't buy something unless you can think of things in your closet to incorporate it into. Well, my problem is that i went from working in a conservative environment (bank) to not working & seeking something part time & fun, so my clothes purpose has changed. So now what do I do? Take the pieces I have bought & buy stuff to complete outfits? I'm just stuck & frustrated & need to regroup. Do I just wear jeans & all my new tops & add cute shoes & accessories? That seems easy enough, so why isn't it???? I want to bring some of you over to build outfits in my closet!!!!!!!

I have the same problem - I went from work to school and even though I have two closets of clothes, I never have anything cute to wear to class. Not like it matters. People wear their pajamas to class. And I've actually ruined FOUR of my precious high heels with snow, too much sidewalk or just clutziness while carrying forty pounds of books (They're just not practical. You'd think I'd learn faster but I hate the way I look in any flat shoes). You probably have more than you think, though. I've had some good look reforming outfits, like conservative sweaters with jeans, dressy pants with more casual tops, whatever. And how fun for you to have a career change, btw!

i try to make a habit of buying ONE thing that i really love (let's say around $100) rather than five things that i like mostly because they are on sale (let's say around $20 each).  i learned this from my friend in college.  she had all these expensive clothes but nice quality and good fit, and i had five times as many clothes, but never anything that i liked or felt that i looked good in.  eventhough i had more...she always had something to wear.
