I have invited to a party (dinner party) by some friends. They are kinda wealthy people, and there will be my boss too; besides, also the people they usually invite to their partis are like of the "upper class" kind (please excuse my english here, hope you guys got the point...).
This whole premise was to ask: the invitation says casual attire, but I don't know if I should wear jeans, or black pants would be more appropriate. I know what to wear on top (gray v-neck sweather w/ lacy cream camisole, and antiqued metal double stranded necklace w little read beads), but I also know that switching from jeans to black pants will make the whole thing more elegant.
What do you think? Any suggestions are more than welcome
If you think their definition of casual would be black pants and what you are wearing on top then go with it. I don't think you could go wrong wearing black pants.
ok, well my first suggestion would be to ask your friend who invited you what she's wearing and then use her outfit as a guide to whether you should dress up w/ the black pants or keep it casual w/ the jeans. but if you don't feel comfortable asking, just wear the thing you feel best in. like do you feel most comfortable and confident in the pants or the jeans? let that be your guide. hth!
btw, what you're wearing on top sounds so fabulous!
maybe you could wear non-black pants, as a happy medium b/t super casual jeans and dressy black pants. do you have gray pants that are a similar color to the top? i love monochromatic gray (sleek but not as severe as black) and the cami peeking out underneath would look really great.
