I have some cute shoes with a high heel. I love them but they cause intense pain when I wear them. Does anyone have any tips for a way to fix this? Do any of the shoe liners, etc actually work? TIA Or do I just have to live with the pain in the name of cute shoes??
I think if anyone found a solution to this they'd be a billionaire.
That being said, I think shoe liners (gel ones) can help mildly in certain situations. Also I've found that having a shoemaker add rubber to the soles can make them a little more comfortable to walk in. Less impact when you walk.
If it's the balls of your feet that hurt I highly recommend Foot Petals, I can wear my high heels all night with only mild ache by the end of the nigt.

what kind of pain are they causing you? what brand of shoe are they? some pain can be mitigated, some pain can be releaved and some pain just lasts no matter what you do. true in shopping and true in life. but seriously can you describe the pain?
they have gel soles on shopintuition.com, although i've never tried them...i also read about them in a couple of magazines. i recently saw on tv that cosmetic surgeons are injecting collagen into the balls of women's feet so that they have permanent cushioning. that sounded pretty crazy to me, although maybe if i had that much money, i would try it.

To describe the pain- oh the agony of the feet. Ok, that was bad. The balls of my feet get sore in these shoes and my toes get numb. The shoes fit fine and they dont slip off or anything, I think it is just a matter of the heel being to high. I remember reading in FH that there was no way to shorten a heel without ruining the line of the shoe. I keep trying to picture these shoes with a bit off the heel. I dont think it would work. These were not expensive shoes, they are just so darned cute.........

I tend to buy high heels with thin rubber soles so they have more give as I walk. Also a few brands tend to be easier to walk in because of added cushioning in the sole (IMO Seychelles is amazing at this). I know Hollywould has gel soles built into the shoes, but those are so expensive...
I had a friend that had her shoes shortened by one inch and then still worked. But there are so many options out there now with a lower heel I would probably invest in some other ones and with the high ones reserve for dinners and such where you are sitting more.
