i've been thinking about getting a white handbag for some time now, and since i'll be graduating from law school in May, i was thinking it'd be a great present for myself (ha! ). so far i'm looking at these:
MJ multi pocket:
Balenciaga --
Overnight:
Twiggy:
Luella Giselle:
right now i'm leaning towards the Twiggy b/c i like that it's funky but can be casual or dressy -- but this is assuming that i can even get my hands on one! i'm going to NYC in 3 wks so i was thinking of checking out the balenciaga store there ... or else i might just have to bribe the SAs at barneys in LA. i like the MJ, but am slightly hesitant b/c i already have a red venetia. i'm also open to any other suggestions y'all might have. TIA!!!
I think that for $1K, the Marc Jacobs is the best best. It's very classic, yet cool. My favorite is the Twiggy, but that seems to be slightly more fleeting in its staying power. I know if I were to spend $1K on a bag, it better be one that will last me for the rest of my life and not go out of style. I think the first one, for the most part, fits the bill.
I think that since you already have an MJ (and because I'm not terribly fond of MJs comparative to other bags in the same price range), you should go for the Twiggy. I've seen the Balenciaga overnight bag IRL and it is just too huge for anything other than a weekender bag. I also thing the Luella would not be a user-firendly bag with the way that it fastens.
I'm on the waiting list for a black Balenciaga medium moto at Barney's in LA...if you put yourself on the waiting list and can be at the phone really fast, then it might be worth it. Good luck!
