I liked Kate and Cate the best. Overall everyone was kind of boring, but I guess it's better to be safe than to be a disaster.
I agree that Beyonce looked really good on the red carpet but I didn't like any of the stage choices.
Catolina Sandino Moreno is a beautiful, beautiful girl and I think she looked amazing. Emmy Rossum also looked great.
I really hated the Charlize dress. Yuck. And Renee looked terrible. Her hair is way too dark for her and she's too thin. I guess her dress really wasn't that bad, but it didn't suit her well and it looked like she was having trouble walking. I think the worst part was the white ruffle around the top of the dress. She's so fair skinned and at first I thought the ruffle was bunched up skin.
I didn't really like the Hillary Swank dress. I loved the back and it fit her very well, but I didn't like the neckline. I may be kind of biased though; for some reason I just don't really like her much. I thought her speech was freakin awful. It's great that she's achieved her dream but seriously, she's a second time winner. When she said, "I'm just a girl from the trailer park," she made it sound like she'd been in hollywood for like a week. She is very, very talented....but something about her really bothers me.
Yeah, Beyonce went a TAD overboard. I know she loves her bling, but she looked ridiculous onstage. On the red carpet, she was perfect.
This is what Go Fug Yourself had to say about Beyonce:
"That is a lot of ice Beyonce is wearing around her neck. That is Antarctica in necklace form. I'm surprised Star Jones, who wouldn't shut up about how "Mrs. Reynolds" was clad in $500,000 in jewels, didn't run up on stage and punch Beyonce in the face for outblinging her. I really hope this absurdity puts a cork in everyone's quest to look like the most expensive mannequin in the room."
i just looked at a bunch more pix. i really like that mermaid-y silhouette that a lot of the dresses had this year (zellweger's, penelope cruz's, scarlett johansson's, salma hayek's). i actually thought zellweger's was stunning when she was onstage presenting--the shape of the skirt was very striking from far away, but i see what everyone is saying about her extreme thinness and the severity of the makeup and hair. it made her look a little old, to me.
i thought scarlett johansson's dress was nice--not super, but not one of the worst either. it's hard to find a gown that won't make you look matronly when you are shaped like she is. i hated her hair, though.
and charlize theron...looked like a big lavender cake. ugh--that dress was bad (imho). so puffy.

both maggie and kristen dunst are from the slouchy off beat quirky school where standing pigon toed and slumped shoulder somehow makes you cool. yikes! at the oscar they both finally put their shoulders back held their heads high and said it's ok to be pretty. thank god i don't think i could take that slouchy crap. besides i belive any actresses that can get spanked in secretary (maggie) and kiss tom cruise at the pre-pubesecent age of 12 (kristen) should be able to stand up like they've got some sense and WALK TALL DAMN IT. hee hee hee ranting again.
ok oscars picks and pans
hillary swank, to manly of a jawline to wear her hair so pulled back with such a sever dress. softer hair and jewlery but the dress was to DIE for. absolutly loved it.
giselle looked pregnant but she is so pretty i didn't care. leonardo di caprio looks like baby hughey to me. sadly cute babyfaced blonde boys never grow up to be hot older guys. the baby face thing just doesn't age well on blonde men. nice tux though.
charlieze theron-pretty girl, pretty dress, pretty color. and this time she had JUST the right amount of bronzer on! hurrah. the dress was a little 1950 top of the wedding cake looking to me, but i still loved the girlish drama of it.
renee zwelleger - oh dear where do i begin. did anyone see her in elle a few months back. she had lost most of the bridget weight and was still a brunette-i thoguht that was the best she ever looked. dark hair snow white skin slightly womanly curves v. v. pretty. but at the oscars. . . dear god doesnt she have a stylist? her hair was to dark and to greased down. the dress was to tight and she needs a hamburger. she looks better with a little weight on her.
halle berry-boring but always beautiful. she sure was slinging her new long hair around. i wanted to tell her to chill it's just a weave. . .
oprah-beautiful i want my hair to look like her hair.
cate blanchett - great beautiful classy regal. . .not sure about the yellow on her but i love her so i don't care
kate winslet - boring dress beautiful color v. pretty girl
scarlett johanssan- beautiful girl why does she dress like she is 50. she has looked better. but she is so pretty it is almost disgusting. i love her though so she was ok with me.
drew barrymore - put the makeup brush down. jeesh WAY WAY to much make up
virginia madison - the teal satin and black sheer tulle and the visible tatoo was a little to deadwood for me.
selma and penelope - pretty women, pretty dresses stupid hair.
emmy rosum - didn't look her age. a little to matronly for her. but v. safe and classy. anyone else think there is something weird about her face. kind of droopy/sleepy eyes to wide mouth thing. . .
johnny and moll wife vanessa pardise - to coustomey. for such a hot guy he does everything he can to be ugly and yet he is STILL hot. vanessa needs gosmile or crestwhite stripes immediatly.
