I'm attending a wedding reception this weekend. The couple is getting married at city hall today and we're attending a dinner reception at an Inn on Lake Micigan that has a rustic/pub type vibe. It's casual but it's still a wedding reception. She's a friend of mine, I made her deluxe invitations and helped her make decisions on flowers and other details so I know she's adding a lot of charming touches to to make it less "lodge" and more fab. Anyway... I'm wearing this dress and these shoes but I need to decide on earrings and a ring. Please vote and help me choose!
bad picture of me so here are the original photos on the model. This dress:

I've decided on earrings and a ring for accessories. Here are my options:
Rings: #1 pearl cluster: #2 sea urchin:
Earrings: #1: Pearl and wood beads: #2 This pair is sort of gigantic: #3: Ivory clusters: #4 My favorite pair I wear everywhere:
it's a gorgeous day for a fall wedding! where is the reception? Traverse? Petoskey? Trying to think of inns on Lake Michigan...
CUTE dress. Love the shoes too. I vote for this combo:
However, I do love the little urchin ring... I guess I'm kind of undecided... if you went with the urchin ring, I would wear the big beaded earrings -- I feel like the dress needs a statement piece like the earrings...

It's in Traverse City. The Inn at the Bowery, I think. I've never been there but I'm looking forward. Legend says it's haunted! Neat tie-in to Halloween.
Thank you for your suggestion. That was the combo my husband chose too :)
I know they aren't getting married on Halloween, but I think, as crazy as it sounds, its a great day to be married/have a reception. My great-grandparents (who are still alive and married) are celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary today. So congrats to the happy couple! They will always have a reason to celebrate today. =)

I am also all about this one. Have fun!!

I went with #1 and #1. Thank you for your input it helped tremendously when I was frantically packing on Friday night.
The wedding was really neat. The Inn has a legend that it's haunted. It's on a little narrow penninsula in northern Michigan and at night it's dark. I mean really, REALLY dark. No lights except the stars. At one point in the evening (after joking about the ghost all night) my chair started gently shaking. I thought my son was behind me with his hand on the back of the chair but when I turned around, no one was there. Then it happened again. And again. Everyone at the table laughed it off as we were drinking wine... but it was a little creepy!
cc the giant flower earrings are from Anthro (maybe last year?). I have yet to wear them :(

Yes! Have you been there?
Yes, several times. It's funny, that's what I pictured when you originally said you were going to an inn on Lake Michigan. I like going to the wineries in the fall and stopping there at the end of the winery tour for dinner either in the main restaurant or pub. It's a beautiful spot for a wedding! I had no idea it was haunted -- I'll have to keep that in mind the next time I go Was there any fall color left?
