Copied this to the top, can you tell I'm freaking out just a little? :)

To an art gallery opening...is it fitting? I have no clue. They said the dress will be all over the place, some in dresses some in jeans. I thought the silver accents and sequins dressed up the rest of the outfit...I am freaking out on what to wear because I will be meeting the boy's boss and coworkers, and the event is really funky (he works for red bull, the art exhibit is of reworked redbull cans into works for art) there will be cirque de soleil performers and patriots cheerleaders and other pseudo-famous type folk there too...also lots of media taking pics on a red carpet...I'm freaking out!!! What do you wear to fit into the funky vibe but also look presentable enough to meet the boss??? Is this OK???
OK this is what I came up with...there is still time to change it so be honest :)
No belt, earrings or purse picked out yet...whaddya think??? OK so far?
I was thinking of this belt...but I'm not sold on the heart. Anyone seen something similar out there?
damn...they have this on the amici accessories website...it would have been perfect and it's really cheap, but there is no way I will rely on them to get it in time for thursday...
I love the outfit, but not that belt - the curvy lines and cutesy tone just don't fit - what about something really narrow and strappy wrapped around twice? It might fit the line a little better than a big heavy belt...
I agree with the others about the belt. A sequin belt or scarf tied around your waist would be cute, but the heart on that one is a bit much, especially with the outfit you've chosen. Maybe add a bit of color to the outfit through your belt & purse. I like dizzy's suggestion to wrap a thin belt around your waist a few times; that would echo the straps on the shoes. That tank is really pretty!!
ooh, I like the idea of a thin silver belt wrapped a few times...anyone seen one??? I tried a sash/scarf around the waist but it just looked like too much w/ the shawl I'm wearing too. And I think i will add color w/ the purse too. :)
Personally it isn't my style, but if you like the way it looks on you then go for it. I also think that gold or bronze would work better with the brown/tan/white shawl thing. And maybe even the teal tank top would work, I love teal and brown together.

don't freak out, whatever you wear i know you'll look great and wow everyone! personally i like your original idea better (dress over jeans -- though i am partial to that look). i agree with fp about the color combs gold/brown/teal would look awesome.
I love the outfit & i'm sure you'll look great - belts are my weakness so I'm no help with that, but I have to say - that event sounds like SO much fun!!!! How cool. Let us know how it is.
