I am in a wedding on Friday...we're wearing black, floor-length dresses, black shoes, etc. (there are no "colors"). I have a black shawl that I will wear for the reception, and silver jewelry. The dress is matte jersey (obv. not as formal as silk) and my shoes are embossed leather.
Is it OK to carry a turquoise clutch with silver trim? I have this one:
but obviously not this color. I do have a black leather wristlet, but the hardware on it is gold, and it just doesn't look as dressy. What do you think?
PS - I am not asking the bride. She's my best friend, but she is also 16 weeks pregnant and quite hormonal, esp. where the wedding is concerned.

the clutch looks pretty dark, almost black -- is that right or is it just the picture?
If it is almost black anyway, then i think it would be okay. you wouldn't be carrying it in the ceremony or in pictures (i think), so it shouldn't be that much of an issue.
Just dont' tell the bride what you're doing - she probably won't even notice it after the wedding. And I think it will look cute. Have fun at the wedding! And good luck with that bride...
I'm not gonna tell her. I love her to death, but I remember how cranky I was the week before my wedding...and she's got pregnancy hormones on top of it! LOL
