I normally have all of my jeans hemmed with the original hem reattached but I just got a pair of Joeys and I don't know what to do because of the twisted seams. Will I have to just have them hemmed without the original hem? (would that look ok?) Has anyone here had Joeys hemmed?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! They are 3 inches too long!
that won't work, because the straight seam on the other side of the leg won't match up. i have a pair that i haven't hemmed yet, either, but i think i am just going to get a straight hem put in with yellow thread and be done with it. the original hems on them are nothing special anyway, just really plain, so i think there's no need to do anything special (unless yours are different than mine). i have heard that you can use a nail file or razor to go over the new hems to kind of rough them up, if that's the look you want, but i have never done it myself.
i have 2 pairs of levi's type 1 jeans that have the same twisted seam. i had them hemmed and the look fine. i don't know if you have to ask for an original hem, just tell them you want a jean hem and it won't look like you hemmed your jeans.
