Are dress suits considered as acceptable as pant suits? I know pant suits aren't always appropriate in traditional/formal settings, but I didn't know about dress suits.
Something like this
EDIT- Sorry, I type too fast and usually don't make sense in my posts. I'm sure I come off as partially retarded. What I MEANT to ask is are dress suits just as acceptable as SKIRT suits. I'm not getting either of the ones I posted, justed wanted a visual aid. Or, are black/navy skirt suits still the most formal, professional attire?
personally, i've always preferred the skirt suit to pants suits. it seems more pulled together than a pants suit... and i especially feel like pants suits aren't so great when the leg is too flared.
i LOVE dress suits. i was actually going to get soemthing similar by theory (but the total cost was close to $1,000.. yikes!). anyway, i like the first dress more. it seems more professional.
I think that dress suits can be worn in a formal setting...As long as they stay conservative...no skirt too short or top cut too low...I Think the first one you picked would be great in a formal setting/office
I love both skirt and dress suits. I think they can actually be more professional than pants suits - not only do you get the 'business' vibe, but also the 'strong woman' vibe. I also have a tendency to look a bit lost in pants suits myself, so maybe I'm biased .

i prefer dress suits to skirt suits and when i was interviewing after college that's all i wore. it's so much easier to find a dress suit that flaters than a skirt suit, since most suits still are cut for more conservative women (read high waists). also you get a great conservative black/navy dress too.
