Ever since leggings came in style two or three years ago I have wanted to wear them but I thought I was too old. Then I saw a picture of Halle Berry in them and they looked so cute. THen, again, it was Halle who can wear anything and look gorgeous. Hers has a more "sophisticated" look but I can't exactly remember what she paired with them. Then today I saw a lady about my age wearing some and they were gorgeous. I would not have worn the top she had with them, but she had on flats and the overall outfit was cute. She did not look like she was trying to look younger than she is. She just looked cute. Now I have gotten up the courage to wear them but I want to avoid looking teeny bopper. Nothing against teens, but I am not one. Can you ladies help me put together a more grown up outfit with black leggings? I am thinking of this length and I want to cover my rear end:
The only way I think leggings can be worn without looking too young is with dresses. I think of leggings as an alternative to nylons/ tights and of course would never wear them with the butt showing either!
I'm 37, and WILL wear leggings, say w/a dress that's too short (becomes a SHIRT DRESS in my book), and it looks just fine. I have damn near all colors of the rainbow, except maybe orange. As long as it's dress/age appropriate, I'll go for it. I DO MAKE SURE my butt is covered..... LOL
