FI and I are taking our engagement pictures in a few weeks. The weather is still pretty warm (high 70s, low 80s) although I know fall is just around the corner. I need help on outfits for both me and him. One dressier or more trendy and one more casual.
Ideally, I love the thought of wearing sweaters and doing fall pictures, but it will be way too warm for that, but also to late in the year for sundresses. Any help is appreciated!

I really didn't want to do the traditional black or white top & jeans combo. But we sort of did. We ended up with 2 outfits:
1. Similar olive colored tops and jeans. My tip - don't wear a trapeze type top unless you want to look preggers. But the olive color turned out amazing during the sunset pictures. We look all golden tan and it wasn't the typical color. Even our photographers loved that part.
2. Me: Black V-neck, cap sleeve, empire style jersey dress. Him, Black Guyabera S/S button down and jeans. They made for good color I guess since we have black hair and later sunset pics.
Maybe you could wear a sweater dress and he could wear a L/S button down in a similar/tonal color. That'd be cute for the fall.
I've also seen striking contrasts, like red, green, orange, yellow, purple - that the photogs play around with and make the colors pop. It also really depends on your photogs' style. Check out Mrs. Tulip's e-pics for ideas too! http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/12/10/engagement-photos-4/
I'm really into the tailored, sophisticated 40's style vibe right now and I think that style would be really cute for engagement pics. Something very classic, maybe a little retro? For your guy, I think a slim suit or a white shirt and vest would be work if he would feel comfortable going a bit retro too. Banana has some vests and suits that would work (couldn't copy and paste-sorry!).
