on this outfit? When I first saw it I had this strange attraction to it. I can't get it out of my head. But, my rational mind says..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Actually, it does look like something Princess Diana would have worn in the 80's. Maybe that is why I was attracted to it. I just loved to look at pictures of her clothing.
Before you feel too bad for liking this outfit, Meow: I think we were all a little blinded by the cut and material.
I think the idea behind the outfit is actually really cute. The tailoring and print of the particular clothes there is very matronly, but you can put together something in a similar idea but much cuter, i.e.:
you can add your own ribbon belt...

Halleybird, you are good. I love those outfits. The second one with the black cardigan from ON, black and white BR skirt, and the blue shoes from Dillards just solved a problem I had been having. I have a black and white silk skirt that I have been racking my brain trying to put a top with other than a black top. Seeing that black top with that skirt and those blue shoes makes me want to wear a black top...but, now I have to get those blue shoes. Darn, I just hate having to buy another pair of shoes
I'm getting 80's flashbacks from those football-like shoulder pads. But if you got rid of them and wore a nice fitted cardi with a bow belt and a full skirt it would be nice.
Meow- I think halleybird's choices are great and fit the concept of what you were trying to do. I just think the ensemble you posted wasn't the best representation of that concept (though I like the colors). I think the 1st skirt halleybird posted is great and I like the last cardigan. Good luck.
