I am new here. I just found this website and I love it. I just bought this skirt from JCrew's final sale. I have been drooling over it a long time, but did not want to pay full price. What color of top/sweater could I wear with it other than boring black or white? That is my main question, but if you want to throw in a shoe suggestion and some jewelry that would be fine too.

You are not stupid! Never say that about yourself even joking around.
And on to the skirt, I've wanted that for a while too. I would experiment with maybe a green sweater or if you want to go softer maybe a pink? Beside the obvios black and white of course.

That skirt is great. Lots of things you can do with it too! I love the idea of it with a bold color like red - you could do a red top and even a red shoe, or a white top with a red shoe. I also think depending on the length a knee boot would be ok with it - if you've got black that would be fine but something bold would work too. I think pink could be worn with the skirt, like a baby pink. You can work a basic top, like a tee, scoopneck, etc. or you can work with a layering piece, like for example, a red cardigan over a white tee with flat round toe shoe that has a bit of a bow detailing, denim jacket, etc. I would even consider wearing that skirt with red khussas though I don't know if that'd turn out ok or not - would want to play with it to see. Wrap sweaters, like ballet style, is another option, with maybe a flower pin on your shoulder though again, play with that and see because with the skirt a flower pin could be too much.
I have that exact skirt. I, too, have been debating over what to wear with it. I really want a short sleeve kelly green sweater but really haven't found one. There was one on ebay that someone suggested but it was a little beyond my price range. Here are some possibilities I found. I am really liking the green one (even though it is not kelly green).:
It would go with almost anything. In my head I've always seen it matched up with teal for the nicer weather...would also be nice with a deep green or red.
