mia, usually i love all your picks, but i am not feeling this one.  i had something like it when i was in high school (early 90s), so i guess that's why i am not attracted to it now.

sorry, I don't like it at all. Reminds me of stuff I wore when I was a little kid...and all those laye 80s photos we cringe at now.

Well honestly, I like it. It all matters on how you wear it. Sorry I cant help with that, I suck

It does remind me of something I wore in the early 90s when I was like 8. That's why I like it. Brings back a bit of nostalgia. I have friends that would wear that out to a club and look great in it, if I could pull it off (and trust me I can't) I would wear it too.

That's so crazy - I had no idea this was a 'nostalgia' piece. Where the hell was I?

Does anyone have a pic of Sienna Miller wearing the similiar piece - because I would be damn interested to see what she did with it.

I just sort of envisioned this going with a lot of outfits - toughening up the too-sweet pink ones (and oh, I have lots of those) and extending the wear-time on summer pieces into the fall etc.

I think I'm going to throw a fit Bumblebee - again!!!

Here are some pics of Sienna Miller wearing a vest somewhatsimilar to the one you posted. I think she looks very cute. I say if you think you can pull it off, then go for it!

you never know, vests are supposed to be coming back in, maybe by next summer denim vests will be everywhere...but I wouldn't risk it with an expensive piece, maybe a different denim vest?

Yup, I *lived* in a similar item in 94-95.  I still think it is cute tho, it doesn't look dated or anything.  And, i think it is really versatile 'cause you can wear it with almost any casual look or you can wear it to tone down something dressier (is that a word?), like a beaded skirt.

Thanks for the pics gypsyfreak! I would have been too lazy to search for them

Luckylily - That's what I was thinking - it would be a sort of dress-down piece. I don't actually like the one Sienna is wearing - I like the shorter one. I am definitely going to think about this, though, because it is expensive and I need to be sure.

Thanks for your opinions...!

hmmm. i'm not sure. in my head i see it over a sundress -- something like the james perse ones dot posted, or under a cord blazer with cropped pants. but i'm not sure.  however, levis made something similar a few seasons ago (when they were making type 1 stuff). here's one i found on ebay, in small for $29.

maybe you could get that one and test it out.

I had one of those in 1995.... Although, I can kind of see the appeal, I still wouldn't spend a whole ton of money on it.
