My 'assistant' had B.O.
Permalink Closed

So I went to David's Bridal for a preliminary dress try-on.  The girl that they assigned to me HAD THE WORST B.O. EVER!  At first I thought it might be me b/c I was nervous and sweating a little bit, but oh no, it was definitely her!

Anway, everything I tried on was kind of 'eh'.  It's kinda what I expected from there, though.  I did accomplish what I set out to though, so I guess I can't complain.  Here are the dresses I tried on:

Bridal Gown style S8476Fit like a dream, but the allover embroidery was nappy

Bridal Gown style T8404Pretty, but didn't do much for 'the girls'

Bridal Gown style 5431This is a WHOLE lotta dress for me at only 5"1'

Bridal Gown style GV8358Love the back but the fabric was really low quality synthetic

Bridal Gown style E8316The sleeves stand alone, the sleeves stand alone, hunka hunka stinky cheese the sleeves stand alone!

Bridal Gown style GU8247I might as well have worn a white sheet

Anyway, here are the things I learned for all the rest of you who are currently looking for a dress:

  • Trumpet skirts rock!

  • Tulle is not your friend.

  • Wear deoderant and hope your assistant does the same.

  • Bring your own shoes if you want anything higher than a 2 inch heel.

  • I was there for about 2 hours and tried on 6 dresses.  Plan accordingly.

  • If you have your own bustier/control slip, bring them.  The ones they provide are ill-fitting at best.

  • Trust your gut - if you don't like it on the hanger chances are you won't like it on you either.

That's the way I felt about David's too, but I do think it is a good place to start because you can try dresses on in your true size and get a feel for what you like and don't like.  Keep us posted on your dress hunt!

oh wow.  that is really funny L!  Keep me updated on your adventures in dress trying on.  My friend just got engaged and is starting the whole planning and I'm listening to her too and its funny.  I can only imagine what I'll be saying when I get to go through all of this.
