nice cargo pants? I have seen some cute, nice cargos at Anthro, that I thought I could maybe taylor down with a proper blouse/cardi and conservative pumps. Any thoughts?
I've done cargo business casual. I wear a ae blazer and a shirt underneath it. It works pretty well. I'm sure I could do other things with it but i'm feeling lazy right now. Your idea sounds good though.
I have to say that I personally draw the line at cargo pants in the workplace. IMO they don't look professional, as their purpose is inherently casual. This especially applies to cargo capris. I have attempted this look (not for work) with boots on many occasions and have been perplexed as to why they look 'off'. It finally hit me in the dressing room at Old Navy - I looked like I was in the military. But anyway, I digress. I would tread cautiously into the waters of cargos-at-work, and deal with them on a case-by-case basis only.

Business casual is such an overused description nowadays. You really have to get a feel for what is acceptable at your place of business. It largely depends on what your boss has set as precedent and whether or not you have direct reports.
You may be able to wear the pants "on occasion" at your job. Not often enough as to set a precedent though.
