I want to get a large messenger bag for when I'm riding my motorcycle. I want something leather, sporty, great quality, cool, and possibly funky/fun.
I like old school neutral looks, since I'm on an old school bike...
I will be using it riding this bike with either one of these jackets (the fabric one also has honda in white across the back, and the back of the leather one is embossed with honda and the wing emblem):
I also wear either of the following boots - frye harness or prada sport:
I will also be wearing the messenger it so it lays flat across my back, but I want to be able to carry it as a purse to go into restaurants, etc. if I get off my bike I don't want to break the bank on a bag, since it will get knocked around a lot (the fabric fendi one I've been using has been taking a beating)
Here are some that caught my eye - please let me know what you think, and if you have any other suggestions:
A. I like this one because it's tie dyed suede and in keeping with the 1971ness of the bike, and I'd have to be accepting that it will get banged up, but that's ok: $350 - suede/leather - antho - don't know the brand
B. I like the studs and ruggedness of this, but not sure I like the shape for my purposes... $288 - leather - linea pelle C. this is really nice quality and simple - $255 Cole Haan - leather
D. Frye harness $395 - would go with my frye boots kinda
E. Vintage-esque rugged leather flap bag $80 (in black) F. Lodis $109 - I'm a big fan of Lodis for work, and this is a good price, but I don't know that I'm in love with the bag....
G. random leather messenger $150
H. Y3 $265 - I love this bag (and the marked down price), but there is no top closure, and I am concerned about things possibly falling out. However, the bag looks deep enough where it would be unlikely... (I wish I could post the pic on the model, but it doesn't seem to want to paste)

I voted for the Cole Haan one, but i like the Frye one, too. I do really like the first Anthro one you posted, but for this purpose you'll probably be best off with a really durable dark leather.
I like the shape of the one you just posted but I'd have to see the finish IRL. I'm going with the Frye as plan B. I think you wear gold more than silver, so the subtle brass hardware feels more you.
Suasoria - actually i wear both gold and silver/white gold equally and often mix them, so the hardware color is not too much of a consideration for me. I do love the frye, but now I'm thinking it might be too cumbersome for off-bike stuff... My friend has boots distressed in the same way as the bag I bought - it's a cool look imo, plus you can't beat the price!
rlutz - thank you for the validation I love it too - it reminds me of the mismatched buttoning of some recent anthro sweaters...

I think I like the one you got too - did you receive it yet? If that doesn't work, my next vote is for the cole haan - just because it has such a classic look I don't think you can go wrong -
