advice on my bag

for chrismas, i recieved this bag from my husband: (but not this color... the color is tapioca. a pale yellow). i love the bag, as you can imagine, but i'm afraid to carry it some/most places. i'm not so much afraid of losing it, or damaging it as i am being "caught with a way-too-expensive bag" in front of my friends. i am actually meeting my girlfriends tonight at a coffee shop for some knitting and thought it would be a great opportunity to finally carry it (still have the tags on it), but i don't want it to become the focus of attention for even a minute. i've thought about returning it, but my husband picked it out... (style AND color) on his own and i'm not sure i could return it for anything "better" because HE chose it for ME. i'm not really into labels, and don't wear a ton of designer items... it's just not me... but lately i have been into really good bags and shoes... hence this gift. should i just shut up and carry it or go to the trouble of returning it? i don't really have my eye on another bag right now, but i'm sure if i looked i could find one (or two) for this price. help! thanks!

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT RETURNING THAT BAG!!!!!!!!!!!  Carry it proudly, and if anyone asks about it just blow it off and say it was a gift you don't know where it' from or how much it cost.  And hang onto that man!

Why would you not carry a bag you love? Who cares if other people notice it? I mean, to me it seems like thinking someone sucks for carrying an expensive bag is as bad as thinking someone sucks for carrying a cheap bag. Who cares? Your friends certainly shouldn't! Carry it before we all come to your house and glue it to your shoulder.

ah, thank you all for knocking sense into me. (and totally making my laugh too) i'm taking my wallet, lipbalm and ball of yarn for knitting out of my old bag and into MY NEW ONE and leaving the house PROUD!

You'd be insane to return it. Don't worry what your friends or anybody else thinks about the price tag. Besides, it's all the more special since your husband bought it for you!

It's not a status bag like an LV so you have nothing to worry about! The bag is awesome looking so don't let anyone think it's anything but when you're carrying it.
