Going to a restaurant - nicer but not too fancy. And in Austin, no one dresses up anyway. The sheer fact I won't be wearing jeans will be craziness. But no jeans! Any suggestions?
Sooo should I wear this?
With brown pinstriped pants and maybe some copper/gold shoes? I think a trip to Nordies is in order.
Or this?
In black and not tied so tight, open a little deeper on the chest
in light pink
Also, what kind of shoes and accessories do y'all suggest? I'm trying to go for a chill, casual, sophisticated look.
Hey, i didn't know you're in Austin! I think you're the closest one to me. I like the 1st option w/the brown & pink pinstripe pants. I think that gold shoes would look nice too, it dresses the outfit up in a not trying too hard way. Maybe wear some thin-long gold earrings. Other than that I'd keep the jewelry simple.
I didn't know you were from Texas either! Do you live in Dallas? Just a guess 'cause everyone lives in Dallas!
I want to go to Nordies and look for some goldish shoes - I have some roundtoed pumps but I really want something that will show off my pedi so I want something strappy. Does that sound like it would work? It's not like it's cold here or anything...
I think that gold strappy would be cute. I dont know if you have a DSW there, but I got some Kenneth Cole one's for like 30 bucks. They are super cute.
Well, I'm not from Texas but can I vote anyway or is this a Texas exclusive post, just kidding
I vote for #1 with gold/copper strappy shoes and a brooch gathering the cowl neck maybe to the side, make sense? Have fun and don't do anything I wouldn't do

Nope, just coming from Spokane - the stix of Eastern Washington . I'm sure Houston will be a big improvement!

Love the outfit! Those are just like the pants I was contemplating. I'm definitely hitting Nordies up tomorrow at lunch to see what I can find. And, if all else fails, I can wear the black outfit if I can't find the right shoes.
So are we official that in the brown vs. black war, the brown wins? It's pretty plain jane though, but I don't really see any way to spruce it up besides the accessories. Ah well, maybe I'll go simple for once in my life!

I kinda know what you're saying about the brooch but do you have a pic? And what, exactly, is it you wouldn't do????

One of my favorite color combos this spring is Brown & Pink - I also like the idea of pinning a brooch on the neck of the sweater to create some 'custom ruching'.
