OK, i never pay attention or look at polo shirts because they remind me too much of my eighties days in high school. But all of a sudden i want polo shirts. They've come so far since the boxy ones from the 1980s. Where can i buy nice ones that are fitted and good material. Which brands are the best as far as fit.
i have a lacoste polo and i love it. it is pricey (for a polo) at $70. it has a slim fit and actually washes/wears well. i've had mine for over two years and it still looks new.
if you are just not interested in the price tag or the logo, gap and j.crew always carry lots of pique polos in spring/summer that are fitted in at least a dozen colors.
le tigre also makes fitted polos (cheaper than lacoste). i swear by ralph lauren though. they have a bunch on the website (same price as lacoste) in different styles, etc. you can even customize one, and their polos last forever. i still have some i wore in high school.
I live in polos. My favorite is lacoste, they shrink a little though, never dry them. They do get shorter, but are super comfy, and I have no idea why but they feel dressier to me...maybe b/c they are $$.
Then secondly I also love ralph lauren's polo's and I find mine at Marshall's, Tj's, and Ross for around $19. I think I may get a custom one though from the website.
My new cheaper version favorite are the new ones from Old Navy that have a cute little whale on them and polka dot ribbon on the inside of the collar. These are the longest of the three brands.
I would invest in a black and white and your favorite color in Lacoste and then see what you can find at discount places in your area.
