Nordstrom Dress Review

Dress arrived today.  It is 98% polyester 2% spandex.  It is very thin material (but it is from juniors dept and only $48 so I guess I should expect that).  Anyways.... My body type is hour glass, 36D, 29ish waist, 38ish hips - size 6 in pants and skirts, M in tops/shirts for the most part, 5'4 height wise:

Tried on the medium which fit the best out of the 2 but it showed everything I had! Very clingy material and very see through (can't hide bellybutton or underwear at all).  Tried on the large and it was too big in most spots but not as see through/clingy but still clung to me too much. The large was just too blah and old ladyish that even my mom made a comment about it to me.  Side ruching emphasized stomach a little too much for my liking on both no matter how I tried to fix it.  Also they were both longer than in the picture on me (I'm 5'4), they hit mid-calf on me.

Overall I was really hoping dress would work out because its really cute on the model and a good price but I'm sending them both back.

That's too bad. It looked great on that model but that's advertising for you. It's a shame it didn't work out though but that's the risk we all take when we order in a rush.

Anyway, do you have time to find something else today? If not what are you going with? Isn't the show tonight?

Sorry you didn't have any luck with the dress.  I have very few dresses for that same reason.  There not meant to fit an hour glass figure.  I'd maybe go for a skirt and top.  That always works best for me.  Let us know if you still need something.

Yeah I needed it tonight but I have a few dresses in my closet that aren't the look I was going for but I might have to use one (black with the coral flowers or a short semiformal dress I wore 2 years ago to sorority semiformal).  I am about to make one last attempt at the mall but I don't think its going to work.  Who knows maybe someone got a shipment or put a $200 on 75 % off who knows.

Thanks for the help yall.  Its just a shame this dress didn't work out because I know some others were eyeballing it too and waiting for me to have a wonderful review.  We'll just have to keep on looking.

lsubatgirl,
Sorry about your dress dilemma. You know, i work in theatre and have seen my share of broadway and non-broadway shows and know that people dress across the board. I think if you have a nice pair of black pants and a nice black top and just accessorize with some color, this would be fine. Your outfit does not even have to be monochromatic. That was just an idea.

Good Luck and have fun. "Millie" is coming here soon and i'm going to try to see it.

I've heard the same thing here that people dress across the board with some people in jeans and others in floor length formal.  i think I'm just going with the short semiformal dress only because the boyfriend wants to make it a sorta fancy thing and wear his suit cause he never gets to so I'm just going to follow that.

I'll let you know how Millie was.  I'm hoping its really good cause I love the movie.
