Every season I try to buy a few pieces that will really add to my wardrobe and are worth the money. Last season I purchased this jacket:
This season I was thinking of getting another J. Crew jacket, b/c I just loved this one so much.
I also bought a Nanette Leopore top, a dressier black dress from Ann Taylor,
this bag from LV:
In pink though, since I got for my b-day in August I only used it for dressy, but I think this will be great for Spring. The pink is really light.
I also wanted to get a great going out top that would double for a nice dinner, a little black dress for Spring/Summer that could go day to night, a juicy coverup, new jeans, some cool shoes in pink, something Lilly (must have the Lilly...SFClinevandy)that are also good for going out and nice dinners. I am still looking for these pieces so if you have any ideas, suggest away. But I really want to know what expensive things that you will be saving for.
What investment pieces are you putting on your wish list for Spring/Summer?
I think you're list looks good and I can't think of anything to add.
My investment pieces that I would like to find are...
-A DVF wrap dress in a cool print that I'll be able to wear forever
-Polka dot bikini(s)... I already have 5 in different colors and styles but I have this thing for polka dots and decided it would be neat if all of my suits were exclusively polka dot.
-Cute sundresses (of course one would have to be a Lilly). Some ideas (sorry the last pic is HUGE)
-A new evening gown. Something long, sexy, and in an interesting color.
i don't really know what i'm going to invest in this upcoming season. i feel like i'm finally reaching the point where i have a wardrobe (as opposed to a random collection of clothes) and can justify splurging on some items, but i don't really have anything in particular in mind. i do have some general plans for the upcoming season though
1. i want to invest in better shoes, esp. summer shoes. i saw these awesome orange prada wedges in atlanta that i'm in love with, so i think i might get those.
2. a new pair of alvin valley pants i love his pants, and my old pair is too big, so i have to give them away.
3. a leather bag. not a status bag, but i'm looking for a funky leather handbag. i saw an orla kiely one that i like. but i already have several pieces by her, so i think it's time to branch out. unfortunately the only other bag that i loved is now sold out at barneys.
so that's it as far as investments go. i'm actually going to hold out a bit (in theory) until more into the season, since i know both alvin valley and orla kiely have spring sample sales.
I want to get a nice bag; have been wanting to for awhile, maybe something like this:
I also want to start adding investment jewelry to my collection - things with staying power, like platinum and diamonds. Considering I can blow a grand on clothes I will wear only one season, I think that money could be better spent on a pretty bracelet or earrings.

Here are some things that I saw that you may like.:
I thought this one would be cute in spring or fall.
I also have changed a few things on my list: Pucci Scarf in silk 36x36 size instead of cotton, I am waiting for the new summer ones to come out. Chanel black sunglasses. I think I may get this top from Nanette Lepore for my cute top for summer. Also I really like this blazer too.
chances are, my spring budget will be going toward a house (fingers crossed). If not, I too want more investment pieces. I've spent the past 2.5 years overhauling my closet, so I feel like I have a lot of classic but basic stuff. So here's what I'd get to spice it up:
Pricey shoes -- bright flats OR pink heels OR funky wedges
clothes - light tees with interesting details to go with the boring stuff I already have:
bag -- I think I'd like something mid-end; everything I have now is sort of low end (Hype, BCBG, etc). Of course, I'd really like a Gucci, but in the interest of possibility, I like these:

I think some of my investment pieces this year will be a nice mid-end, non-logo bag, a nice trench (I have so many low-end versions), and a nice watch (possibly Cartier?).

I would wear it with dark jeans (LOL, I wear everything with jeans) or a red skirt (don't own) or white pants (also don't own). Guess I have some shopping to do!

I'm starting to build a foundation of solid pieces that won't go out of style.
Last fall, my big investments were
Saddle Frye Campus boots
Black leather knee high kitten heel Kenneth Cole boots
Black plastic frame Chanel sunglasses (virtually the same as the ones MK Olsen wears all the time)
TR Joeys
This spring/summer, I'm musing over...
R&R Scorpions
Chanel Aviator sunglasses (I tried on a pair with olive lenses that have tiny interlocking Cs in rhinestones and they're kinda fun bling-y, but still classy).
A Bag...any bag! I need bags that aren't from like the Gap/BR, Dickies, or Robinson's May
I like this Kooba
this Ani bag in green (It would make a good work bag for me)
this Bliss Lau
but I will also probably be searching the whole of LA to find something brightly colored and non-logo.
I need to be careful, though, since I will have a job by May and my job will heavily determine what direction my wardrobe goes in.
Well, my spring budget just got alot smaller b/c of my computer dying, but I'll still be shopping.
I really want to upgrade my shoe collection (I mean to do this every spring, but this spring, I'm really going to do it). I also would like to find one really nice designer bag in a classic style (haven't found one that strikes my fancy yet). Also, I want to add some jewelry to my collection, most likely gold.
Just a few new things from Susanna Monaco that I want! Her stuff is so great, you can wash it in the washer machine!!! They hold up really well, I have 2 dresses from 4 years ago.
