I have a girlfriend who is wanting to buy her first pair of nice jeans. She tried on a few pairs tonight at Nordstrom, but none fit well. She wears a size 12 at the Gap and Banana Republic, but the 31s and 32s the saleswoman suggested were a little snug. I can't remember which ones she tried on - does anyone have brand/style suggestions? I did a quick search on the Nordstroms website and didn't find any designer brands that list sizes above a 32. Please tell me they sell nice jeans in sizes larger than 32?
Im of no help because I have never seen any designer jeans in sizes above 32, but that doesnt mean that they don't exist. Im sure some of the other girls know better than I do.
It depends on her shape. I can't wear 32 in Sevens but I usually wear a 29 in AGs, Citizens and Blue Cults. And I've got thighs and booty. I think the best thing is just for her to go try a few different brands. I've heard Seven Dojos are roomier in the thighs.
COH runs pretty large (a 32 should fit her unless she has thigh/booty issues), as does Saltworks IMO (see COH). Also there's a chance that a 32 in True Religion may fit. AG should fit her so long as they have stretch. She may want to take a look at the "curvy" girl featured in the Shopbop jeans guide to see how things may look on her.
I had a friend who couldn't pull off any designer jeans to save her life until she tried the Seven Dojo. And then she wore them all the time because they fit her perfectly.
Miss Sixty sometimes carries sizes to 34 in some of their more popular styles, though she'll probably have to go online to get them. Or to Leohmanns...I always seem to find M60 stuff there except it's all size 33 or 34.
Otherwise, just get the men's Sevens. A LOT of people do this so there's nothign to be ashamed of. Seriously, I put up a men's size 32 alongside a women's size 32 bootcut jean and they were the same pair of jeans.
Also from what Ive read on here in the past the stretch ones tend to stretch out in one day about a whole size so she might want to go with the snug ones if she can still breathe in them.
