I have purchased a lot of cowl neck sweaters this year. I have the one below in several different colors. I've seen in magazines where they pair long beaded necklaces with them. What do you think of this look?
I do know long, beaded necklaces are a new trend, but beyond opera length pearls (which I do wear) I just can't embrace the look yet... I would be more inclined to runch the sweater at the side front waist or side front bottom hem with a brooch. I also think the cowl and long necklaces are too much of a repeated line - too many long drapes in the front. So, in a nutshell, no, I wouldn't do it... JMO

I really like the long necklace look. I think it looks so cool. I like the long silver ones, creating a kind of rock 'n roll thing and I like the long beaded ones, creating a boho-chic look. Plus, it's a win-win with long necklaces. If they ever go out of style, you can just wrap them around a bunch of times and make a cute chunky short necklace or even bracelet!
i feel similar to detroit. i love long beaded necklaces, but think they work best when they are more of a focal point and paired with a relatively simple top/button down. i think the combo. of the cowl neck and the long beaded is just too much from a visual perspective and might seem a little cluttered. but your best bet is to just experiment with the look at home in front of the mirror. often times things that sound strange can look really good.
