I spend my time in mostly pretty casual environments - school, home, or out to dinner/movies/bars...so for $118, is this skirt a worthy investment? It looks awesome on - very fitted yet ladylike...can it be dressed down? I'm kind of thinking no...

I agree. I could see it with a black or ivory tank and some kitten heals or slighty embellished flips flops. I think it is a really pretty skirt and Ilove the color.

I totally see it with some dressier flips, a tank top/wifebeater and a denim jacket over it if you get cold. Accesorize with some chunky beaded jewelry and you'll be ready to go!
I think it's beautiful and worth the money, but I feel like if you waited a bit maybe you could get it cheaper in store?
Yeah, but the two stores near me don't have my size anymore, so I'm thinking of ordering it online...I may wait it out a week or two more, in case it goes on sale online, but it might be awhile before it does.
So you guys think it would look ok w/ flip flops? It's heavy cotton with velveteen appliques...does that change anything or do you still say it can be dressed down?

I think if the flip flops are made of a material that isn't rubber (say maybe suede), you could get away with it. Ballet flats or kitten heels would also be comfortable and cute choices.
Personally, I'm not a fan of using flip flops to make a look more casual. I do think the skirt would look really cute and casual with a pair of ballet flats or casual kitten heels tho. I also think pairing the skirt with a beater or t and topping it w/ a denim jacket would be cute.
I have a habit of stalking items at Anthropologie. Almost everything there goes on sale eventually. I just go in once a week and check to see if what I want is on the sale racks yet. It works really well for me. If this skirt just hit the stores, it would probably be 8-10 weeks before it goes on sale. Anthro doesn't turn over their stock quite as fast as, say, The GAP.
