I've seen Monique Lhuillier for $10,000. Mine was $7000 and I got it for $5000. That was at Kleinfeld's in Brooklyn, NY

Jestillman,

How was your experience at Kleinfeld's? Would you recommend it? A woman I work with got her dress there and she said it was great, but I've heard the place is a zoo...

How was it for you?

Thanks!

please excuse typos...this keyboard is horrific.

I loved it. I enjoyed seeing everyone else and it's only a "zoo" because there are sometimes a ton of people there. of course if you go on the weekend it is more crowded but if you have an appt you get a fitter, they are all these great women who have been doing this for years...and they help you. i knew what i didn't want and ended up trying on tons of different styles bc they ahve everything there. i got my dress, veil, shoes, headpeice and hair pins there bc i had my dress and knew the things would match. i'm having my fittings in NY then they are shipping my dress(NO TAX) to MD. they are experts and know what they are doing. yeah, it was difficult to look thru the racks of dresses bc they all kind look the same but there are tons of ppl there to help you. it really depends on your personality. if you'd prefer private attention(which you definitely get there) and not to eb surrounded with other brides and misc people go to bergdorfs. gorgeous rooms and the lady that helped me and my mom was great. NOT cheap, but a great experience. Kleinfelds is older but they really have their stuff together and that was reassuring. i went to almost every bridal attelier in NYC, all the large names, so if you, or anyone has any questions, i'd be happy to discuss. i could talk about wedding stuff all day(i kind of already do).

kleinfeld's has been amazing with response time and callign when things come in. i'm hyper-organized so i called the day the said my dress would be in, it wasn't yet but they callde the day it came in, same for shoes, veil, etc....i have no complaints. The owner, Ronnie(man) was GREAT, so typical NY and salesman. they just opened a bridesmaid dress place in the city but i dont know anything about it. ask if they'll send a car service for you to get to/from brooklyn. they did it for me and my mom. ....

Monique Lhuillier  $2800 and up

Amsale  $2200 and up

Angel Sanchez (he wasn't designing when I was in the bridal business but his dresses are gorgeous)

Pronovias  some start at about $800 but i would say the majority are about $1100-$1200"

these were the prices that we charged in NC and this was about 4 years ago. We doubled everything that we bought at market.
