I've never even tried these on, but lately I have been thinking of investing in a pair. It will probably be an internet purchase, maybe ebay or eluxury or something similar. I have no idea how these fit. I wear an 8.5 or 9 depending on the brand. For those of you who have experience with MJ shoes, can you help?
in my experience the run small. i usually wear a 6-6.5 in most brands and i have one pair of pointy toe mj flats in 36.5 that are a bit snug. i think most of the pairs that i've tried on also seemed to run small.
i only have one pair and it ran big--i picked out a pair to buy that was featured in lucky, tracked it down to my local barneys, they had it in a 7 1/2 and i usually wear a 7 but i thought i may as well try, went down there, and liked it better in another color (a dark teal as opposed to pink) which was lucky for me because the 7 1/2's were HUGE, the 7's were still too big but the 6 1/2's fit just right. sorry for the conflicting opinion though, between me and cc, we're probably not much help!
I'm a 7.5 or 8, but I have a wide foot. I found all 7.5 MJs to be way too small, so I tried on the 8s, which fit like a dream. I guess that makes them run small, at least in my experience.
ETA: I've only tried the Marc by MJ shoes on. HTH!
we are all over the map on this one! i find that they run true to size. i have narrow feet and usually wear a 38. mj shoes in 38 fit me perfectly.
oh--wait a minute--you are talking about the marc line right? maybe that is the disparity, if some of us are talking about the marc line and some are talking about the higher-end line?
i don't know if mine ar mj or marc by mj. they just have "marc jacobs" embossed on the insole and one of the names (maybe marc) is in black, the other is just the same color as the insole.
it could be that mine seem snug because they are pointy toe and patent leather so they don't really give at all.
mine look the same as cc's and the box also has jacobs in black and marc in a light gray. i have no idea if mine are the higher or lower end. what's the price range for the two? maybe that will shed some light...
oh and mine are round toe t-straps that don't give either but yeah, the sevens were still big...if it helps i'm a seven in bcbg, does anyone know if that line runs big or small? or am i just confusing things even more?
I have both Marc Jacobs and Marc by MJ shoes and I have found that Marc Jacobs run consistently large where as marc shoes are true to size to a little small. I am a size 6.5-7 and my foot is v. narrow. I did notice that my pointy marc flats are snugger than the others, but they are extremely pointy.
Oh, and to clarifly....if Marc Jacobs is printed in one color, it's a Marc Jacobs shoe. If it has Marc in black and Jacobs in a lighter color, it's Marc by Marc Jacobs.
HTH!

maybe mine are marc jacobs then?? or no because of the printing of the names and darn it now i can't remember for sure and it is bothering me. whatever, thanks so much for the knowledgeable response, vanessa--what would we do without you?
Well, I found out that I have a 10 inch foot (I feel HUUUUUUGGGEEEE now). This means that I am a size 9 and a 39 in MJ shoes. That is according to Nordstrom's. So, I think that I will try them on before I buy online.
My experience is with the MJ line and I found they fit a full size too small. I only tried one pair from the fall seaon, and they did warn they ran small for that particular shoe (but they said 1/2 size and I found it to be a fulll size).
