Hi/Low/Black/Brown? Help!

In an attempt to spend the Christmas money that was burning a hole in my pocket this weekend, I ended up trying on every pair of boots in my entire mall.  But because I am the most indesicive person in the world, I left with no boots at all !  Should I get knee-high boots or mid-calf boots (which actually look really good on my short legs)?  Should I get black or brown?  Kitten heel or high heel?  My head was spinning !  I was actually standing there, in the middle of the store, thinking "I wish I could ask the Stylethreaders what to do!".  So, in your experience, what is the most versatile pair of boots (color, style, shaft height, heel height)?  For my fellow shorties, have you also found that mid-calf boots look the same on your legs as knee-high boots look on tall people?  Please help me make an informed decision: Black/Brown/High/Low/Short/Tall?

How tall are you? If the midcalf boot looks cute on you then some with a mid heel, (2 inches) might be perfect! In black, I bought black and brown boots this year and have yet to wear them in brown yet.

Chic, I'm 5'1" with a 31 inch inseam.

in general I've found that blk high boots with a medium height heels gives me the most versatility.

I am 5'2 with a 31 inseam and I only wear mid calf boots. I think knee high boots look funny on me. They'd be ok with pants but I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing them with a skirt.  I think that black is more versatile than brown, but it depends on the rest of your wardrobe. Go with what you think would look best based on the things you usually wear.  If you wear a lot of brights I would say go with black...personally, I always feel kind of weird wearing brown shoes unless I'm wearing a very neutral outfit. I agree that mid heel is the most versatile (something around 2")

I'm 5' 2" and I wear both knee high and mid calf length boots. I wear my knee high ones WAY more often though. My mid calf boots look like mid calf boots, and my knee high boots hit at a few inches below the knee (where they do on most people). I have long calves attached to really short thighs, though. Since I wear lots of bright colors, I found black to be the more versatile color.


My recommendation is a black leather knee high boot with a kitten heel.

this is what i would get the most mileage out of.  i have been loving my kitten heel boots lately b/c they dress the boot up AND you can wear them walking/standing for hours comfortably.

I personally like black tall boots. You can wear them with skirts, or pants. Black is pretty much the color you can wear with everything!!
