or should i get a pair?  there are a bunch on sale at shopbop, and if i'm going to have to get them, i'll do it now.

How high waisted?  I think the really dramatic corset waisted ones- yes. But 70's trousers or mid-rise straight leg jeans- no.  I think those can always be styled in a way to look modern.
