here's the deal... I returned some gifts (clothes) my Mother got me (she means well, but understands that I'm picky...) Anyway, I thought I would take this as an opportunity to get some things I can use now and through this spring/summer. Since purple is the next big thing, I was looking for a purple bag but found this Cole Haan bag instead (more of a berry color)

this hype rumor bag in ruby (as shown)



do you think these are good choices, or should I keep looking? I guess I'm most on the fence with the hype bag... I have been wanting some teal pumps and like the Blahnik mj's and these kind of look like them... is the cole haan bag too berry? should I be looking for something that's more of a true purple? opinions, please!

i like the shoes, but i'm not really into the color of the cole haan bag.

I REALLY like that hype bag. I think it's a good bet. The color is awesome and everything I've read says that metallics are going to be big through spring. I think that bag is a nice way to buy into the trend of purple and metallics, especially since the design is very simple (ie, no hardware) so it's stylish but not way too trendy.

I also like the teal shoes. They're very classy. I'm not too into the Cole Haan bag. I love the shape but I don't know about the color and I think it's more fuschia than purple.

the color of the cole haan bag is actually much darker and more on the purple side (the tag reads fuschia) and cc, no, those aren't too dark - that's really more of the color I had in mind... I love the shape of the cole haan bag though


thanks for the confirmation on the shoes - I love them - I think they'll work pefectly for me...

I love the Hype bag too!  Great, great shape and you touch on the metallic trend without screaming the way some silver or gold bags do. 


I honestly don't care for the Cole Haan bag. 
The Steven shoes are cute for the right price.  I saw them at TJ Maxx for $39.99, so keep a look out.

ok - you busted me! cole haan bag for $119, hype bag for $59 and the steven shoes for $39.99! hence the delimma whether or not to return... such good deals!

hey detroit, i just found this on ebags.com. it's by Tignanello for $99. i guess the main difference is that it has contrast stitching (can't tell if the cole haan does).

LOL!  I wanted those Steven shoes too, and have been thinking of them sporadically since the day I saw them (sad, I know).  Get them!  And the Hype bag too.  That is such a great price for it.  Both would come out to less than $100! 
Heck, *I* want that Hype bag now!  No TJMaxx here though; maybe I'll find it when I get back to Chicago.

My sister and I agree: the Hype bag is awesome, but we are iffy on the Cole Haan. I really like the shape/colour of the Hype...get it!! Get iiiiiit!

...it has been decided... the CH bag is going back - I was wrong on the price too - it was $130 - I think I'd rather sit on that money and wait for spring merchandise or if I stumble on the *perfect* purple bag... I am thrilled about the hype bag and steven shoes though! I wish it wasn't 20 degrees here today - I'd be wearing those shoes... the bag on the other hand, might just see the light of day... thanks for all the input, fellow threadies!
