I'm going to be spending a few months soon in a hot country where I have to dress modestly. I want to purchase some cheap tops -- both 3/4-length or elbow-length lightweight t-shirts and also some shirts/tops that are dressier than t-shirts. I'm looking for very lightweight items and ones that won't be low cut or super tight. Being able to layer is good.I could probably also use a long skirt. I don't want to spend too much money on this stuff because it's not for my normal wardrobe. Any suggestions? Help please!
Old Navy. I had to buy a bunch of modest stuff for a trip to Egypt, and I scoured many, many stores. Old Navy had the best selection and was the cheapest. I held on to most of the things I bought and they're now in my "traveling clothes" box.
My first instinct was old navy and gap. They have alot of crewneck and boatneck styles, which I would then alternate with some paper-thin flowey button down shirts. The "maxi" dress in really in style so I am seeing tons of longer lengths now.
As long as you have a shirt on under the sheer shirt, you should be fine. But I did see a dramatic difference in how I was treated if I wore ANYTHING body conscious, let my hair down, or showed bare shoulders.
