i've been in love with that sweater forever. but unfortunately i haven't seen anything similar or cheaper. but if i do run across something, i will definitely post it.
the hunt for a similar/cheaper version of this has already taken place - we were unable to find anything... as I think I said to Lola recently, sometimes it's worth the money to get the one you really want. Maybe you could cut back on spending on something else for a month to better afford it or feel less guilty for spending so much on it...

I've been eyeing it too and waiting for UO to put it on sale, but so far they haven't. I'm hoping at the beginning of year there will be a better chance for that to happen.
I know Ya-Ya makes sweaters pretty similar, but unfortunately they're more expensive, so that doesn't really help....
This is similar, even though the pic doesn't really do it justice:
By Free People - originally $88, but I have seen it on the sale rack at Bloomingdales and it has a much cozier look than the above pic. And I just got an email from Bloomingdales saying 40-70% off original prices of sale items.

OMG THAT'S SO EVIL!!!!! I used to work in a lofty cold gallery. I always wanted to die. I guess I am looking at so much "warm wear" because I will be going to my parents house (I don't think my dad has turned on the heat ONCE in the 15 years he's owned the house) and my bf's parents (who live in Chicago).

I hear you! I'm at my family's right now - as far South as you can go, mind you - and the outside temp is about 50. Inside temp, you ask? 60!! Everyone is so used to it, but I can't get used to it! I keep my apt. at 73 and my office is about 65, and even there I'm cold. I've had 4 cups of tea today and am wearing cashmere, but I'm still freezing!
