"Time waits for no man....or apparently woman." I have a favorite pair of boots that I waited TOO long to replace. I had my eye on the black (and brown) dress boots from BR. I waited...why?..I'm not even sure. They are no longer on their web site (therefore I can't post a picture). They're not in the stores "in my size".Aaargh!
I'm looking for black leather knee high boots with about a 3" stiletto heel. No buckles...no laces...no straps...just classic boots. Any suggestions? (Pics would be appreciated.) Thanks ladies!
I think they are a "classic" and both comfortable and well made.
I know the BR dress boots you wanted. I think they are even a bit more "refined" than mine from JCrew. I must admit that I had my eye the BR boots too!
Thanks for the pics Lola! Which boots did YOU purchase? The 3.5" or 2.75" heels? They look really hot and I'll take your word on the "comfy and good quality part". But......I notice that they only come in full sizes. I can see where that could cause a problem for some women. What size bootts do you normally wear and what size did you buy/
I got the 3.5" heels, but I now wish I got the 2.75" ones so I can wear them to work...anywhoo, I normally wear an 8, but with pointy toed shoes I wear a 8.5. In these I got the 39 and they fit perfect. I would defiantely order up not down. The 8's were very snug on me.
they have a few different styles of plain black boots at zappos by bronx w/ different height heels and some of them are very pointy, some are squared off a little at the toe.
The top ones I posted (that I have) are lined w/ this comfy spongey fabric so it adds to the comfort level and the soles are protected by a rubber coating. I wore them for the first time walking around NYC without even breaking them in first and they were very comfy (the true test!) The lower heeled ones are not lined on the inside and do not have a rubber coated bottom if I remember correctly..HTH!
Lola...I LOVE your bronx boots too! Very classy and sexy.
Chicago.. I thought of another possibility. These are from RL (Polo)
I realize that you said "no buckles", but the buckles on these boots are very small, and the boots have very clean lines. AND...they're marked down from $198 to $134!
Lola and Emily..thank you so much for taking the time to post your suggestions. They were very helpful. Because my favorite black dress boots are 2 years old, I thought I should begin looking for replacements. But the "good" news is I think my current pair will last me thru this Fall/Winter and well into next season. (They are still in excellent condition.)
I must admit that I tend to over-react when it comes to favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I have a policy that I always try to replace footwear in particular well in advance of their wearing out. (I'm kind of anal that way I guess.) But I also NEVER do that with trendy items, just classic items like my black dress boots.
Thanks again for the help!
P.S. I went back to a BR store last night and they still didn't have my size in the dress boots. Maybe "someone" will return a pair that didn't fit. ;-(
