Wubba

We bought my border collie a wubba today after reading the reviews from Elle's earlier post.  We have only had it for a few hours and she has already torn it apart at the seams.  Has anyone else had this happen?  She is extremely hard on toys which is why she doesn't have very many. =(  Mainly tennis balls which she destroys as well.  We got her the Kong Wubba:

I've never tried the Kong Wubba only the regular Wubba Wubba and it took cheese almost 6 months to destroy it and he typically goes through toys in an hour!

I just did a little research and it turns out they aren't the same thing. This was made by Kong. I assumed it was just a version of it like snuggle wubba. Where did you buy your wubba wubba?

I didn't know that either. My dogs loved their Kong Wubbas, but they took about an hour to destroy. I had the one pictured above and the Snugga Wubba -- both gone!

HB-
We took the Kong Wubba back to Petsmart and they told us they have a lifetime guarantee. We got another one and she tore it apart (in a different way) in an hour as well. I'm not sure if we will take this one back or give up. I will say that Emery loves it though! She carries it with her everywhere. We had some storms last night and she went and found it (or what was left of it) and took it to her pillow to cuddle. =)

Dog-toy makers lie.  Alot.

We've had Wubba and Snuggle Wubba (both made by Kong btw - snuggle wubba is just covered in nubby fleece fabric, while regular wubba is covered in some tough woven nylon).  Both died a quick, bloody death, just in different ways.  Snuggle Wubba had all 4 legs ripped off and was then decapitated before his body was squished from his snuggly skin.  Regular Wubba was scalped  and his brain ripped into bitty pieces before his body was squished from his highly durable nylon skin, though his legs remained intact.

No dog toy has been indestructable for us, and I'm not sure how they can 'guarantee' something that is fabric covered ...?  Whatever - our pup really likes them, but they're kind of expensive for eating!

I think the guarantee just means you can take it back in pieces and they will give you a new one for free. At least that's what Petsmart said. I bet very few people actually do that though. Emery really loves them, but for her to tear them apart in just a few hours is ridiculous! Maybe it will be her "special" toy we buy her occasionally.

We got Simon the kong Wubba for his bday last month and it took less than 24 hours for him to destroy.  I'm so glad you posted that we can return it to Petsmart and get another one.  I didn't know this!

My Daisy is a hard core chewer, not many toys last for more than a day, a tennis ball is ripped apart in about an hour, a stuffed toy would only last 10 minutes.  We have three toys that have stood the test of time.

She's had this one for 2 years and still chews on it even though we nevr put treats in it
!
Kong Goodie Bone Dog Toy, Red

She's had this for one year but she did manage to tear the feet off so now it's just a regular heavy duty rubber ball.  It also has a sqeaker but since the ball is tough, it's sorta hard  to sqeeze down and squeek which is fine by me!

Bad Cuz Dog Toy, Large

She's also had this one year and hasn't managed to chew  a chunk out of it yet, she loves it.

Kong Dental Jack Large

Why are all the good toys red?

Heather Lynn,
I was super confused there for a min. it's so funny that your dog's name is Emery, it's a rare name, so it's really funny that your dog and I share that

LOL, I thought so too!

As for the Kong pieces, well, TMI, but I don't think Petsmart would want them back. Halley is a destroyer of toys, though she doesn't eat the pieces. Sully doesn't destroy toys, but he WILL eat anything that's in pieces. So the Wubba pieces ended up barfed up in several places on my floor. bleh

eta: needsfashionadvice: the regular Kongs are awesome. Unfortunately, my little monsters are completely uninterested in rubber toys.

That sucks, Daisy wouldn't have any toys at all if it weren't for rubber toys. She's like Sully, she likes to eat the chewed up toy and then throw it up a little at a time.
