I want to get a really nice diaper bag for my friend and stuff it with some goodies for her baby shower. I know some basics to put in their, but thought it would be fun to do more of a poll to get a more realistic idea.
so, what do you/did you put in your diaper bag for your newborn??
-Pacifiers and pacifier clips -Wipes and a portable wipe holder -Diapers -The pre-portioned packets of formula (they kind of look like large Crystal Lite packets) -A blankie -A hat (even for spring) -Extra socks (you can never have too many) -Changing pad -Bottles -Mustela cream or diaper cream -Travel size Johnson's Baby Powder -Baby books -Baby toys
-2-3 diapers and travel size package of wipes -2 burp cloths -pacifier -blanket -extra outfit in case of diaper explosion -MYLICON! this stuff is amazing! it says it helps w/gas, it may not really do anything, but it seems to calm her down if she is fussy after she eats -if the mom is breastfeeding, you could get her a hooter hider-i love mine, i got it off ebay. -1-2 toys -changing pad i think that's about it! that is so nice of you to do that for your friend, i'm sure she will appreciate it! i know when i had marissa i had to google what to put in my diaper bag b/c i really didn't know!:)
*Hand Sanitizer or Anti-bacterial lotion (sometimes diaper changing must happen when there is not a bathroom nearby!)
*Snack like crackers and bottled water
The only thing that I can think of for baby that isn't already listed is some *infant's Tylenol. Handy when it seems like you are always taking baby to get shots!
ok lets remember what I put in mine since I will have to do a newborn again soon... diapers many burp cloths and bibs botlles and the litle packs of formula...extra nipples, i always lost them multiple changes of clothes pacifiers snacks, water cuddle toys
Thanks for asking this. I have already started packing stuff into my diaper bag and didn't have half of this stuff in there. I guess I should start packing my hospital bag too, haha.
Receiving blanket (for over changing pad or changing table diaper changes)
baby wipes case binkie formula bottled water 2-3 burp cloths extra diapers extra outfit (preferabling warm clothes) 2-3 small toys snack 1-2 small bottles
I used to keep extra's in the car so I wouldnt have to carry a humongeous bag
*Hand Sanitizer or Anti-bacterial lotion (sometimes diaper changing must happen when there is not a bathroom nearby!)
i can't believe it forgot this! it's a must!! especially when you go to the grocery store and have to touch the cart handles....apparently that is one of the germiest (is that a word) places!
Here's what is in mine: * 3-4 diapers * travel size diaper cream * changing pad * cute travel wipe case http://cgi.ebay.com/Wipie-Couture-Baby-Wipe-Case-BCMM-CBD-HOPC-J4B-eBd_W0QQitemZ290165540667QQihZ019QQcategoryZ20399QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 * receiving blanket * baby tylenol * Mylicon * travel baby lotion * hand santizer * bib * baby food * take'n'toss spoons * beanie hat * brush * nose sucker (I know that's not the technical name ) * binky (I have it in one of those paci pods from JJ Cole) * teething tablets * change of clothes (I usually just throw a sleeper in there so I don't have to worry about socks, etc) * burp cloth * scented bags for disposing of really stinky diapers
And for me: * granola bar * nursing pads * chapstick
Ditto to what everyone else said. I also really liked having a smaller zipper pouch that I could put my walet, keys, chapstick, etc in so I didn't have to also cary a purse but didn't have to dig around in the diaper bag to find these things either.
plain white burp cloths wipes dipes ziploc bag(s) for dirty dipes or soiled clothes bottled water nursing pads one change of clothes for baby bib comb soothie pacifier toys with rattlers, jingle bells, or vibration to entertain fussy babies travel size hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes
SO...since that sounds really boring, you might try these unique brands to add some pizzazz:
munchkin bling pacifiers bumkins bibs (best!)
