Thanks FP - I appreciate any suggestions.

I'm also trying to decide if I should just suck it up and check my baggage, so I can fit more and not worry about the tolietries restrictions, or if I can fit everything into my small carry on suitcase and large shoulder bag.  Any opinions?

A company meeting in Cancun? That sounds like a dream job!!

I prefer to do carry ons when I go to Mexico, because it makes customs easier. You can skip that whole part at the end where you have to hunt for your bag after going through the first checkpoint.

For your travel day, I would wear a bunch of layers. I like to travel casual so that would mean jeans, pumas, long sleeve shirt layered over a tank and a light jacket (nothing bulky because I would rather freeze going to the airport than drag around a heavy coat afterward). I always put flip flops in the outside pocket of my suitcase, so I can peel down to my tank and swap shoes when I arrive.

The last time we went, my friend brought flips and a denim skirt and quickly changed into them when we got there.

For work events, I would take a bunch of jersey dresses, sandals and definitely a wrap or a jacket because they tend to crank the AC inside the hotels. A cute dress would also work for the welcome reception.

My parents just got back from Cancun about 10 days ago, and they said the weather was gorgeous! Not too hot or humid, nice ocean breeze. Have fun!!

For the plane ride, I would wear a sweatercoat/cardi and tank/tee with cotton trousers and just take the sweater off when you get there... something like this:
Carbonella Sweater CoatStar Turn TankHarbormaster Trousers
And flats for the plane, flip flops in carry on for when you arrive.

Then for the welcome dinner I would wear a sundress.  For during the day "beach casual" I would do capris (not cargo ones or anything, but nice tailored ones) and nice tees/shirts and then change into jersey dresses for night.  Also for shoes you may want to do flats and/or wedges since you might be on the beach some... heels and sand don't mix.  Have fun!!!

This might be random and you can discard if you are going to be at the resort the whole time, but the last time I went there we did a bunch of activities (horseback riding through the jungle and then onto the beach, a boat trip out that involved some walking through a jungle and then snorkeling and time on the boat, etc.). I ordered some super-dorky but totally functional "water-sneakers" from Land's End and they were really perfect and versatile for all that--my feet were so happy and didn't get cut up.

Oh--they still have them--$29.50, such a deal! I've also seen similar ones at my sporting goods store recently, if you don't have time to order. Have an awesome time--I wish I was going!

My image won't work, but just go to Land's End's website and look under "shoes"--they hae a few options.
