I am totally at a loss here. I have two pairs of boots and I'd like to wear them with jeans tucked in. I don't know what my problem is, but I feel like it looks funny...like I am a riding instructor or something. I have decided that the problem is that the boots come exactly to just below my knee, and I feel like I need a little more leg showing to make me not look stumpy. I am on the shorter side...5ft4in...and am thinking this is part of the problem too.
The I saw this picture (embarassing to post a celebrity pic, I know) and it got me wondering...she's got to be even a little shorter than me...and her boots look like they are hitting at least a few inches below her knee. I think it looks so much better than if they'd gone all the way up to touch her kneecap. So that does that mean she's wearing more like mid-calf boots? Is that what I should be looking for? Any other thoughts/suggestions?
Sorry for such a dumb question. I always think this looks so cute on other girls and I have been trying to pull it off for over a year now and just can't pull the trigger. Also, am I right in noticing that I also think this looks better with flat boots than with heels?
I think you're on the right track. I'm short too (5'2") and have trouble with taller boots sometimes. There seems to be a great variation in the shaft length of both knee high boots and mid-calf boots - usually taller mid-calf boots hit me at just the spot a regular knee high boot would hit a very tall person. Some knee high boots work that way too, but others completely swallow my kneecaps, so I think you just have to try them all on!
Good luck! Hope you can find something you like!

Yup, I think Hayden P. is wearing mid-calf boots. I'm 5'0" and all my knee high boots hit right below the kneecaps. I don't think it looks weird, I think it be pulled off even if you're short. Here's a pic of Rachel Bilson in knee highs boots. They appear to hit right below the knee.
Thanks for the input. I think I need to look for some mid-calfs (but those seem hard to find) or some flat knee-highs. Something about the heeled knee boots I have tucked in is just not looking right.
It probably also doesn't help that all my points of reference are magazine and celebrity pics where everyone always looks fabulous anyway!
